The Voyager 1 spacecraft has reached the end of the solar system, becoming the first man-made object to enter interstellar space, as reported by the American space agency, NASA. The agency explained that this achievement comes 36 years after the first mission sent a probe to take pictures of Jupiter and Saturn before being lost. "On leaving the heliosphere and sailing on the cosmic seas between the stars, Voyager has joined the history of exploration," stated the chief mission scientist Ed Stone. "That's the kind of mission that we have lived today, leaving the solar system," he added. Voyager 1 is 18.800 million kilometers from Earth, according to NASA.
